Dual Rate plus Expo is working perfect. Instruction: After entering D/R&EXP menu, first change D/R setting and second change EXP setting. Please note: Do not change the D/R switch position, when you are in the D/R menu! Then leave menu by pressing MENU button. Then change the D/R swtich position (eg from OFF to ON). Enter the D/R&EXP menu again and change settings beginning from D/R setting and ending by EXP setting. Leave the menu again by pressing MENU button. Finish!

5 stars, service. Ordered Sat, received Weds to US.

5 stars, look,feel of the 9x. Solid: sticks, knobs, switches are very smooth.

0 stars for the manual. Not included box says to read it! Links for Imax-9x manual exist, but it is not a good manual.

2 stars- acro firmware. Can't do dual rates AND expo at same time (also heli,glid). Ailvator doesn't work, confirmed by others. Fix these for top notch radio. Programs easily.

I got mine yesterday and have been programming and testing. The sticks feel really nice compared to the FlySky. I have never owned a Futaba or Spektrum et. al. I also find it funny the box has a stern warning to read the manual first but doesn't include the manual. I found it online anyway.

To get to both endpoints, you need to move the stick or knob assigned to that endpoint! And/Or assign an AUX channel to that endpoint FIRST (like to a knob)! This frustrated me for some time. The 'simulator port' is much like a headphone jack, not a ps2 type plug. The battery pack looks like it uses the same connector as a 2S lipo with only 2 of the 3 wires connected. You can cut the 8xAA pack and rewire for LiPo's or find a 2S connector and rewire. I cannot close the battery cover with an 1800 mA LiPo.

Once I figure out how to program fully, I think this radio will be a great deal for the price. And the rx's will be affordable so I can get 2 for both 450s I own.

Como ya se ha comentado una vez que lo tienes en la mano no da la sensacion de ser una emisora barata. Interruptores y todo muy bien, tacto muy suave, etc. Sin embargo parece que tiene muchos bugs. Creo que lo minimo que deberia hacer HK/Turnigy es testar un producto antes de venderlo, por muy barato que sea.

From what I can see, this is a Imax 2.4 that Turnigy/Hobbycity have branded for themselves. Look at the review for the Imax (just the remote, not the transmitter and receiver) and decide for yourself:

I am using an ASSAN hacker modulewith the 9X Tx.
With no recievers available I hooked up the Hacker as follows:
1- Top Pin signal
2- no connection
3- Red +
4- Black -
5- no connection.

I only gave it 4 stars as the TX did not work as recieved, one of the wires to the dual rate switch was not connected, an easy fix.

TESTED & APPROVED! awesome range! I will make a blog a.s.a.p for setting "ELEVON" - for foamy using 2 servos and throtle channel only. No instruction but if you are familiar with other brand name radios it takes few moments to figure it out. The user interface menu is self explanatory. Face swithces should be on "UP" pos. and top swithces should be on "DOWN" pos. to avoid "SWITCH ERROR" during start up.

Hardware is super, for this price unbelieveble. But in Firmware is many bugs, I believe, that in later version will be this repaired. But this bugs are not fatal for basic+ using, you only can't use many advanced functions in menu, because this functions are workable in menu, but not in real movement...

Fitting Assan XJ8 Issue (testing)
Take the module out and hook up the positive and negative leads to a 9 volt battery.
There are 5 connections on the module.
The center pin is positive (+)

The negative lead the next one below. (second hole from the bottom).
LED should remain steady red. If it doesn't the module is faulty.

Great Transmitter anyway. Trying to deal with many-many functions - it's look like expensive TX but for unbeliveable price!!!

I bought this radio and really like the way it setsup for heli. For the price it is a great buy.
Make sure all the swithes are up when you turn it on or you will get the switch error on display. I would definitely recomend this to someone who doesnt want to spend alot for a 9 channel transmitter yet still get some quality.

Looks nice, sticks have a nice smooth feel. There is no ratcheting feel to the throttle. Screen is a bit hard to see. Feels comfy in my hands. No manual, found one online for the imax 9x and seems to have the info I need. Programming doesn't seem like it will be too hard once familiar with it. Be careful, somehow when changing my model type from heli to acro it switched the TX to mode 1 and my plane went to half throttle. I recommend taking the prop off before messing around with the programming. Using the TGY 2.4 module gives me range out farther than I'm comfortable taking my models. I've yet to have a glitch with this although, it was the cause of glitching on a 72 mhz model of my friends until I turned off my TGY TX and RX. Once off his worked normal and mine was turned on again with no further interference to either.

Just received this radio and am really pleased. Haven't used it to fly yet but my worries about craftmanship have been relieved. It is definately worth the $70.

I got a chance to use a friends Turnigy 9X this morning and I loved it. It felt great in my hands and the programming was very easy. I mainly fly 6 channel helis and this radio is perfect for them, all my needs are covered and I have channels to spare for goodies that I may add on future scale projects. I love the fact that it is modular and that I can add my own TX module. For the price and features you are really getting a deal.

Precisa ser testado antes de ser colacado a venda, pelo que disseram, realmente tem problemas na sua programacao, a fabrica precisa resolver isso, ou melhor, e sua obrigacao, pois aqui nos pagamos e o cliente tem sempre razao. Vamos la Turnigy arrume o que criou!!!!!

Ik heb er zo één, met de Corona module.

Het werkt, ongeveer. Dat is ongeveer het enige wat ik erover kan zeggen.

De programmatie is afgrijselijk en de software zit vol fouten.

Wordt gebruikt (maar niet veel) in schuimen hellingzwevertjes.

in de reactie stond namelijk dat dit wel kon.?
en er zijn dus geen positieve punten.?(behalve dat die corona ontvangers niks koste)

Let op! De 9X is ineens uit de handel genomen bij Hobby King vanwege de software problemen. Na 4 maanden niets meer vernomen te hebben, is de zender nu weer leverbaar. Dus ongetwijfeld is de software aangepast voor wat betreft het mixing en expo probleem.

Failsafe zit in je ontvanger, niet in je zender. Misschien kiezen voor een Assan module?

Ik heb die zender en ik ben er best tevreden over. Het menu is inderdaad best lastig, maar als die moeilijke dingen waar mogelijk bugs in zitten gebruik ik toch niet. Wat mij betreft is ie zijn geld zeker wel waard, voor iets soortgelijks met een merkje er op moet je veel meer betalen en kom je in de val van de economy/luxe modellen. Dit is gewoon een zender waar zo veel mogelijk op zit.
En qua failsafe, tja de meeste ontvangers hebben dat niet. Het zou leuk zijn, maar meestal zit je dan ook gelijk vast aan een duur systeem (zender + ontvanger). rcmodelreviews had laatst een review van een systeem met failsafe, maar die heb ik nog niet te koop gezien. Of gewoon blijven zeuren bij de verkopers, want technisch is het zeker mogelijk, het is alleen een software aanpassing voor de ontvanger...

Aangezien het commentaartje wat DR/EXPO betreft er nog bij staat, zal er aan de software wel niet al te veel veranderd zijn.

Wat de batterij betreft, die zit er niet bij. Ik gebruik 3S1P 1800 mAh FlightPower LIPO packs. Gebruik in geen geval losse batterijen, kies voor een gesoldeerd pakje. 8 NIMH bv.

Wat de module betreft, ik zou net iets meer uitgeven en voor Assan kiezen, de betrouwbaarheid daarvan staat denk ik buiten kijf.

zender kan ik niet veel over zeggen,
de corona module werkt echter prima. nooit problemen mee head. over de grond al 800 meter getest zonder problemen. nog niet verder geweest over de grond. ook in zwevers ed geen problemen met verbinding.
