I'm following your story here, thanks for posting.
Getting a bit confused....looks like you're building a sub hahaha, making it watertight that much. If you continue to make it that watertight you could create a nice act with it, sinking the boat in a controlled way and let others perform a search and rescue operation.

thanks, the main problem is her freeboard, lack there of!! she sits so low at the stern she is easily swamped. too easily in fact, (you would be if you were 15mm off the water), some members of the club have large fast speedboats and like to make BIG waves, sometimes cat-pouncing (approaching fast from the stern with a big wash following) when they did water would wash into the aft deck and go in the hull. annoying as it helped upset a reciever

after sailing the boat with the new under hatch on, I am glad to say that it is 95% effective, now for what to do over winter.
