March online, 10MB www.fullsizeplans.com Sample issue van juni 2012 www.fullsizeplans.com/images/stories/backissues/06jun/SAMPLE-ISSUE.pdf The free plan www.fullsizeplans.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=38&Itemid=46 We have two new construction projects for you in this march issue, The LEFT OVER-67 by Bob Aberle, and SMART E, by Tom Binkley. The LEFT OVER-67 is an indoor, all balsa RC model with 67 square inches of wing that uses salvaged components from the common ready-to-fly models that you see everywhere these days. Once the models get past their useful life, the RC and power systems can be reused in a second incarnation. SMART E is a larger park flyer that can be mild or wild aerobatically, depending upon which battery is installed. Batteries are located on the CG to switching doesn’t disturb the flight characteristics except for power available. How about a cute little R.O.G.? John Zaic presented this one in the September 1954 issue of Model Airplane News. Should be good indoors in a gym or even a living room. You can use a propeller assembly from one of the ready-to-fly rubber powered models that are available. And finally, for those who have requested a U-Control model, here is Bob Palmer’s POW WOW from the April 1954 issue of Model Airplane News. For our Historical Aviation feature, Jim Thompson, President of the Aeronca Association provided some great photos and a nice cutaway drawing of the Aeronca CHUM. The CHUM was one of a whole flock of small aircraft that the wartime manufacturers developed during the last years of WWII in hopes of capturing what they felt was a huge market demand by returning servicement. It didn’t work out that way and by 1947 or 1948 the light aircraft inducstry had collapsed and it took several years to recover. We also have an original factory 3-View of the Aeronca CHUM that will be reprinted in a future issue. It would make a really nice scale RC or Free Flight model.
