Very nice indeed but how can I do this? Do I need an airbrush?
Today the weather is very humid here in Greece, I don t think I can paint.

It is not finished but you get an idea... IMG_20211106_141459.jpg

I am also preparing the outboard for the maiden sail and I need your help guys in order to replace the bearing at the end of the shaft.

As you can see I bought the teflon bearing but I have difficulty to pull out the bronze one. I know that there are detailed guidelines in this post but the photos are no longer available.

OK now where does the teflon bearing go. I guess before the bronze?

Wow, great paint job! Looking very nice.

The 2 bushings are a replacement for the bronze bearing. It will not come back Just push the 2 bushings in the inner thread. You might need to gently hammer them in.

Thaks a lot Jan. I think that sth is going wrong here. The bushings (4mm) are too loose in the thread of the bronze bearing...

I don t know if you can see how loose the bushing is... IMG_20211106_154239.jpg

Plus the 2 bushings are going too far inside the thread hole...

I think yes. You can see the measurements below.
    IMG_20211106_183623.jpg
Outer diameter of the bushing is 6mm exactly.
    IMG_20211106_184148.jpg

Inner diameter of the thread hole is 6mm plus a very very small number (epsilon in maths). This very small difference makes a huge difference.
Plus the bushing fits nicely on the shaft (also shown in photo)

I think that's the solutuon to my problem.
I am thinking of covering the bashings with heat shrink tubes and then with some loctite maybe. I am not sure it will work. Any other ideas?

0.4mm is quite a bit in this case.
Maybe you could try loctite 648?

I did have a look at both of my TFL mini outboards. Both are equipped with the upgraded bearings. I got them from the TFL Germany shop and in my case they fit tightly.

Shrink wrap could be tried, but it might be too big already. I think the locktite will work best.

Thanks Jan. I bought them from tfl.de too, yours fit so nicely. Probably the size of the thread hole has changed a little. I will go with the loctite and I hope it works.

Epoxy? Just heat them if you ever want to take them out.

thanks cnn! Epoxy could be a solution but I do not know how it reacts to grease, oil etc.

It will not react to that:)

You can use a 30 min epoxy. That will come lose if you heat it up

Or uhu endfest. That needs some more heat.

It is also used as gaskets for nitro engines. Epoxy doesn't care about grease or oil..

The bashings have been secured nicely with the loctite. Let's see if they last. IMG_20211111_090040.jpg

The painting is almost ready. Only the bottom of the hull has left.
