I think you are probably right Jan. The battery took off and destroyed the hull right after the motor mount.

Possibly a carbon fiber lamination and a stronger (?) battery plate would have possibly saved the boat.

How many grams / m2 carbon fiber are you planning to use in g G force?

Dim, the more I look at the boat, the more I think that the lipo caused the most damage.
I actually laminated the lipo tray with glass weave into the hull, but just 50gr/m2 was not enough.

The G-Force will get a 200gr/m2 carbon weave from the inside.
From the outside I'm not sure yet. At least a double weave with 45 degrees different weave orientation. Probably 2x 80gr/m2.

The Wild Thing is now a trophy in my work shop [emoji854]

It might actually be fixable... but I focus on the G-Force build now.
Who knows the Wildthing will make a return someday, with a lower speed setup!

Even broken it is a beauty up to wall.

200 gr is good choice, I have a 160 gr cf and I do not really like it.

If the bottom is untouched it may be repairable...reinforced it with cf from the inside, use a 3680 motor and I think that 100+kmh will be feasible.

The bottom is split too.. That's why it needs a lot of work and it might be not as strong anymore. But who knows, someday..

Ik heb een filmpje gemaakt, waarin ik bijna alle setups van de Wildthing test. Van speed runs tot oval running.
Ik vaar puur voor de lol, dus het is niet bedoeld alsof ik een expert ben. Maar het is wel interessant om te zien hoe de boot reageert op een andere prop, of een ander roerblad.

Ik wil de romp voor komend seizoen weer opbouwen. Momenteel ligt hij flink in de kreukels [emoji44]
