The Baja 5B Flux takes the stage as another large-scale release for HPI in 2012! This super-powerful, super-quick buggy can hit speeds up to 60mph with 8S power and a 780Kv motor! Powering this 1/5 Scale electric Baja is a Castle Creations Mamba XL2 ESC and 2028-780Kv electric motor that is 8s LiPo (33.6volts) compatible. With this powerful system and an 8S LiPo battery, there is nearly 10hp available right at your fingertips for immense speed and thrills!
The Baja 5B Flux is fully outfitted with the latest options, including the drivetrain parts from the Baja 5SC, adjustable VVC/HD shocks, 2.4GHz radio system and high-torque, large scale metal gear steering servo.
Completing the package is a new Baja 5B Flux-specific body with smooth, flowing body lines on both sides of the shell since there is no need for a fuel cap entry slot on the left side of the shell.

To handle the power and speed of the Castle Creations 2028-780KV motor in something the size and weight of the Baja 5B Flux, Castle came up with the Mamba XL2 speed controller - able to handle up to 8S LiPo (29.6 volts) and fitted with a huge fan to keep things on the cool side.

If you want to go fast these days, you need to go brushless. If you want to go CRAZY FAST, you need to fit the Castle Creations 2028 motor! This massive powerplant features 780KV of power - that's many times the torque of the motors used in our Sprint 2 Flux cars! You need a powerful motor to haul nearly 10 kilos of large-scale buggy through mud and sand, and this is precisely the motor for the job! With extra-thick wires, gold-plated connectors and cooling fins, the 2028 is the perfect match for the Baja 5B Flux.
LARGE BATTERY BOX
The 5B FLUX features a tool less easy entry large sized battery box capable of holding two hard case 4s LiPo packs or one 8s LiPo pack with an easy to reach opening for connecting the battery(s) and ESC together. We'll have battery packs soon that will be the perfect fit for the Baja 5B Flux!

All-new extra-thick 9mm dogbones are the starting point of the 5B Flux drivetrain upgrade - these are new, thicker and stronger to outlast the roughest rides and racing action you can find! New wider rubber boots are included to keep the dirt and mud away.
Super Heavy Duty Diff Shafts
Getting the power from the diff gears to the new dogbones is a wider diff shaft that perfectly fits the increased diameter of the dogbones.
Super Heavy Duty Drive Axles
The Baja 5B Flux is fitted with new Super HD drive axles to get power to the rear wheels, which fit the thicker dogbones.
VISCOUS TORQUE DIFF
Unique in the world of large-scale racing, the HPI Viscous Torque Differential gets the power to the rear wheels as smooth as silk. It's easy to tune with optional diff oils and is fully fitted with hardened metal gears and an alloy case.
ALL METAL GEAR TRANSMISSION
From the input shaft and idler gear to the alloy-encased differential, every gear inside the sturdy Baja 5SC transmission is made from long-life alloy to keep your truck running all day long with minimal maintenance.
