Heeft iemand wel eens gehoord van de Graupner Soft fly? Het zou een Vintage zwever moeten zijn.
Ik vraag het namens een Engelsman (Gordon) die mij via RCGroups benaderde :-) Maar ik ken het model helemaal niet.
Hij zal hier wel mee gaan lezen denk ik, ik stuur hem de link.

Arjan! Tuurlijk hebben we daar info over. Staat in een van mijn catalogi. Romp leek een beetje op de oude RC-Uhu van begin 80-er jaren, ik meen dat de soft fly van vlak daarna is (midden 80). Hij stond met een beetje aparte kleuren in de catalogus donkergroen en rood volgens mij. Metertje of 2 span?

Volgens mij is Gordon puur op zoek naar achtergrondinformatie, een scan van de pagina uit de catalogus zou leuk zijn.

Zwever is met grote regelmaat te vinden bij ebay.de. Prijzen over het algemeen niet over the top. Af een toe een idioot er tussen...

Je hebt hem met V-Tail en standaard stabilo/roer en dan heet deze laatste RC-UHU met een geringere span (1545 mm) voor jeugdklasse wedstrijden.
Heb beide kisten in een Graupner catalogus van 1986 staan.

Hangflug, Elektroflug en Hochstart voor de Soft.

De RC-UHU was bedoeld voor Jugend-Flugmodell-Wettbewerb. Dus vergelijkbaar met de functie van SE200 van Simprop? Twee kanaals te vliegen. Ook al een klassiekkertje aan het worden.

Romp Plura-Perfect. ABS, thermoplast, met mogelijk iets meer rubber in de mix, naar gewenst recept.

Op beide kistjes kon ook een motorbok worden geplaatst met Cox motortje.

Well I finally made it here. :-D Despite being sidetracked by Arjan's thread on the Medicine Man,(plans downloaded) and the Cirrus.
It was also nice to see an image of the Hegi Twen. I was given one years ago, sadly long gone now.....Hegi kits were very rare in the UK, I was lucky as my father picked one up in Germany on a business trip. Is the plan still available anywhere???
I hope to collect the Soft Fly on Wednesday so I will start the fun on Thursday! I am debating whether to put a brushless on the front or keep it absolutely as per plans?

Did you understand there is not much info on this plane? Bas (H.B Busking) seems to know it a bit but other then that; a page in the Graupner Catalogue is all there seems to be. Will get you a scan soon.

About the motor in the nose; did you see my Cirrus with brushless motor? I saved the nose so I can put it back on.

Heb inderdaad niet zoveeel over de kist kunnen vinden. Enige tijd geleden kon ik een nieuw doosje overnemen voor een nette prijs. Ik heb hem laten staan. Soms doe je dat.

Het is een mooi vliegtuigje, ook het doosje ongebouwd is al een hebbedingetje om weg te zetten. Is natuurlijk geen performance plane noch trendsetter. Daardoor wellicht een beetje in de vergetelheid? Neemt niet weg dat je er veel plezier mee kan beleven.

De basis is vast de RC-UHU geweest, de Soft-Fly een doorontwikkeling c.q. spinn off.
De UHU als wedstrijdklasse voor de jeugd. Ik weet niet hoeveel seizoenen ze daarin succesvol zijn geweest. Iedere fabrikant wilde natuurlijk een 'klasse' opzetten die een 'hit' wordt, flink oplages kunnen afzetten.
Zullen vast veel van verkocht zijn.

Electrificeren? Vond je Salto met Hückepack-impeller prachtig. Doet denken aan de oude Jettex opzet.

De romp is termoplast. Dus niet te heet laten worden in de zon. In de winter wordt het spul broos. (Vergelijk de Robbe Progo)

Voordat er verwarring ontstaat; ik heb geen soft Fly, Gordon heeft er een gekocht. Ik ben enkel intermediair op zoek naar informatie :-)

I saw your modification to the Cirrus. Good answer to the problem. I will know more when I have seen the model for real.

Now I have the Soft Fly I am very pleased with it. The fuselage and V-tail have not been touched at all, and the wings have been built quite well. All the plans, instructions and decals are in the box, which is nice.There are two small areas on the wings that I shall re-work but nothing difficult.:)
I spent last evening going through all the parts in the box, the only item missing is the 4.5mm diameter wire wing joiner. A quick trip to my local model shop next week should have this sorted out.
The optional mechanical mixer, also in the box, is really nicely made, but it is so much easier to do this with todays transmitters so I am not sure whether to use it or not? What would you do?

Personal, i would advise to use the transmitter for the v-tail mix.

It's always nice to have some ways to adjust the mix.

When you use the "hardware" mix, this is not possible...

That's funny. The Cirrus has the same wing joiners. It is not a stock size (although my LHS can order it no problem). I have never come across other aircraft that have 4,5mm joiners.

You want it to be as in the old days? Go for the mechanical mixer. You want the plane to fly nice and to be easy to setup? Ditch it :-)
I want them to fly nice, so I never used a mechanical mixer. If I were to drive a classic car I would also want the brakes and suspension to be functional, not original....
