Kyosho Seawind discontinued

Is inderdaad niet het bericht waar je op zit te wachten. Heb zelf mijn Seawind begin dit jaar gekocht. Een van de redenen waarom ik voor dit model heb gekozen is de grote verspreiding en lange looptijd van het model.
In USA proberen ze de Seawind in productie te houden door zo veel mogelijk e-mails van verontruste Seawindzeilers bij elkaar te krijgen. Ik denk dat het geen kwaad kan om ook vanuit Europa hierop te reageren.
Je kan dit doen door een e-mail te sturen naar Efrain Manzano van Seawind America.

I don't want to raise hopes too far as yet, however, information from my contact at the Japanese SeaWind COA is that Kyosho Japan indicated they plan to produce SeaWind kits again in the Spring.
Kyosho America confirmed that they read the fact that SeaWind kits were discontinued from the fact that there was no production scheduled as far out as they had information.
So two things need to happen yet:
1. Kyosho Japan need to insert SeaWind kit production into their schedule.
2. Kyosho America need to place an import order for SeaWind kits.
I very much appreciate all the emails sent by skippers to Kyosho America in support of further SeaWind kit importation. It may certainly make a difference!
As new information emerges I will update as and when I can.

Het lijkt er op dat de Seawind (in iets gewijzigde uitvoering?) word voortgezet. Zie onderstaande post op het seawind forum:

I received information today from Kyosho America that Kyosho have announced a new SeaWind product offering, Product # 40462B SeaWind Readyset with PERFEX KT-21 2.4Ghz radio.
This appears identical with the previous SeaWinds but has a pre-painted hull and installed rudder and sail servos and Kyosho's own PERFEX 2.4 ghz radio transmitter and receiver. It is claimed to only need batteries to be ready to race.
I have requested some follow up information, servo specs, pricing and first order and shipment dates and will post more information as it becomes available.
This is very good news for the class! Kyosho America fully expect Kyosho to support this new product offering with spare parts as is customary for their product line which should help existing Seawinds remain in good health. For those skippers who wish to customize their hull paint jobs, replacement hulls are still available, in fact there are some in stock currently at Kyosho America.
