201 mph @ 6.94 sec - Lawless OCC Electric Drag Bike & Larry "Spiderman" McBride

The Lawless Electric Rocket bike piloted by Larry "Spiderman" McBride made history May 4, 2012 with a National Electric Drag Racing Association (NEDRA) DMC/A3 record run of 6.940 at 201.37 mph making it the first electric vehicle to break 200 mph in the quarter mile! The 355 volt Rocket bike was built by Lawless Industries and Orange County Choppers.

A few comments from Derek.
Today was a historic moment in history. The first battery pack and BMS to go into the 6's and the first 200+ mph run in a 1/4mile. This is the 3rd pack that I have built for the Rocket bike. Some details about the pack.
This is our own ground up design including electronics after years of testing. The pack weighs right about 250lbs, 14.2kWh energy, 355V nominal. It produced about one MegaWatt of power today. About 1340hp minus some power losses. It runs cold, does not produce much heat. There is no ventilation for the pack, it is sealed up. The internal resistance of the pack is very low.
As Larry says we need more power! High Tech Systems can provide the power. Lookout 5 seconds.

Thanks, Derek Barger
