Dennis Wilson's human powered plane (Orthenhopper) attempts to fly by flapping its lower wings with speed and by using most every muscle in the body...legs, arms, back and chest. Upper wing with a 20 ft.wing span with a Clark Y Foil. Plane is 15 ft. long and weights 96 lbs. First attempt to fly was made in September 1997 by rolling down a boat launch at Rapjohn Lake. Couldn't get enough speed. The attempt was covered by Northwest Evening Magazine and was featured on TV 6 times. Made national TV on the Ed McMurry Show. I then revamped the plane and put skis on it to get the speed I needed to make it lift. As it turned out there wasn't a ski resort anywhere that would let me try my second attempt. It can be used as a conversation piece or advertising. Would make a great sign and is definitely an eye catcher OR maybe YOU would like to try to make it fly! Will build crate for shipping and it does break down.
