B Been looking for ever for an f1 hull for my outboard. Not having the inclination or the skills to build one from scratch I was looking at fiberglass ready made. Not many about and can be very expensive too. So when a club mate said he had a wooden hull he'd picked up cheap that I could have it f.o.c. I grabbed it. From the drawing you can see how I plan to alter it, bringing the nose forward and extending the sides too. These are very long print times for each of 5 separate sections so hope it's worth it. Not out to break records, more about creating a scale look, might even add some mirrors. I have some nice decals to put on too. It will be 6s so 2x 3s 5000mah like all my other outboard models.
Nice project! I made my cowl without 3D drawing and i think it came out pretty well. Take a look at my WOF F1 project.
First print done only 4 more to do. Came out well, I was lucky though as the middle support came loose near the end.
It's a bit daunting seeing how much work there is to do to get this on the water. One step at a time and I'll get there, it looks a big model now with its new center section. I need to fill and paint the wooden part first maybe to white undercoat, then glue some fuselage bits in place having first rubbed them down and undercoated them.
