It was developed to validate aerodynamic and radar cross section models for stealth UAVs. This UAV is the precursor to a full size pilotless combat aircraft destined to accompany the Rafale fighter. The principal objective in designing the Petit Duc was to achieve the lowest possible radar signature. The radar cross section is about the same as a sparrow. Petit Duc was developped by a small Dassault Aviation team with our company and it was built in our factory in 8 months. The Petit Duc made its first flight on 18 July 2000, at 150 km from Paris Fully fuelled, the Petit Duc weights 60 kg (140 lbs), is 2.4 meters long and has a 2.4 meter wingspan. The vehicle has a range of approximately 150 km (93 mi) and a maximum speed of Mach 0.5. Petit Duc is powered by 2 AMT Olympus engine. It is fitted with a retractable landing gear. Ik had net iets op de teken tavel liggen om in een epp 50cm span duw-jetje, maar dit is ook zeker een kandidaat (mss is 40 al genoeg voor deze ), zwart epp past er wel bij natuurlijk. Heeft er niemand een foto (of tekening :wink van bovenaf, recht?
niet te vroeg zeuren pjotrrr... er word namelijk ook een grotere unmanned versie van gemaakt met de naam 'Le Grand duc'. stond meen ik een keer in de 'KIJK'
