RC flying fields in Almere

Hello,

I hope I can post my question in English.

I used to fly RC helicopters (Align 450L) many years back in India.
I used to do a bit of inverted flying, and some flips and rolls. I was crazy about it that time.

I am here in Almere for sometime, and I am looking to get back into the hobby.

So my main question is are there any flying fields in Almere?
Is a 3rd party insurance mandatory? Are there any recommended insurance providers?
Anything else that needs to be considered for flying in the Netherlands?

Thank you.

In europe everything over 250 gramms is bound for a general examination. You can look for category A1/A3.
insurance is handy, that is possible via KNVvL. that is a unification. Maybe good to join for some information in Holland.

Welcome to Almere!
Like said, flying a 450 size heli outside of a dedicated model airfield is generally prohibited, at least in public spaces (stands to reason).
I'd advise you contacting the local club, MVA: Adresses
In spite of the homepage being in Dutch, many members will understand and speak a fair bit of English.
There is quite an active Heli group that will surely welcome you and help you wherever needed.
Especially helping you getting your Heli-A certificate that is required to fly solo.
With your background this should be a piece of cake.
Few members are good 3D heli pilots, so you should get together with them.
I'm a retired control line precision aerobatics pilot, but getting to the club occasionally.

Thank you for all the information - very helpful.
The nearest club is about 13km away :(, that's the only issue i see.

I took out and tried starting my heli and radio after around 8 looong year - all the great flying memories came rushing back!
The equipment have some damage (still usable I think)

I plan to fully rebuild the heli in the coming months - then I can hopefully join the club.
Here is a preview.

Another club near Almere is the Gooi en Eemland VVM, adress of the field is Gooimeerdijk-Oost 1, 3896 LG Zeewolde; but presently I doubt there are any heli flyers in the club.

Kwestie van hoelang je gaat vliegen irt de reistijd denk ik.

Als je regelmatig reserve onderdelen nodig hebt dan is dichtbij wel handig [emoji3]

Anyway, flying somewhere else within the boundaries of Almere, or Zeewolde for that matter, is prohibited.
So the choice is yours: either MVA / G&E or nothing at all.

Nice to hear that.

Usually I wouldn't dare cycle that far - but with electric assistance its much more accessible.

Hope to just visit that area this week, just to have a look.

From the N parts of Almere this is a medium far distance for me:
full

Today we had the (twice a year) special event, controle line only.
Of course, I went there by car.:D
