Good to here Dimitri, I always wanted a coloured windscreen, after many hours searching I found some , it reflects the light like a rainbow at different angles. Good that it's only 2mm thick, to bend it I bought a proper tool it looks like ladies electric hair straighteners, with these I could get the bends just right. 20211031_132722.jpg 20211031_132710.jpg 20211101_171534.jpg

20220413_154455.jpg Now the tubes are in place I have been able to measure for the front floor. I can print that tomorrow. I am allowing room under the front cushion for two drive batteries in case I need weight up front.

I like it very much :thumbsup::thumbsup: !!! Looks nice!

How much durable is this construction sealant? Did you notice any problems in your other ribs?

What is your estimated weight ready to sail?

No problems at all with the sealant fit and forget. I did some weighing today , so this boat with outboard and 2 batteries will be 5kg which is 1 kg lighter than the other aluminium ribs. That should make it faster . It will be the go to boat for skiing.

So another 9hr print to get it right the cream paint is getting low so I think some parts will revert to white.

20220419_064713.jpg Thanks Dimitri, this is the support for the front cushion, the holes are for magnets so it goes in the boat the other way up.

20220419_161836.jpg This water pickup arrived from China so now i can get other bits glued in. When I fitted one of these to my sports boat I put it on the outside, I guess this is better. Tale of woe the 9hr printed side support came out just like the first time. It looks like a complete redraw for the part. Now I have 2 small ones , maybe 2 more boats to use them up.

20220421_132128.jpg Seems to go against the grain to print like this, you would think it would fall over. This is the bow cushion reusing the file I made for the rear cushion, pulling and cutting to get the shape.

You are defeating sir Isaac Newton!
As long as the base is correctly bonded to your bed, this will be fine ;)

You start to appreciate the power of reusing 3D data!
Looks like a large part! PLA?

20220421_192008.jpg 5 20220421_153343.jpg The bow cushion needs painting. Out of three magnets I fitted all 3 upside down so when I placed the cushion it flew off.

20220427_194804.jpg 20220427_194822.jpg 20220427_164827.jpg First attempt at the bow step, I need to print it to see if it fits. If it's way out I will have to redraw, but at least I will know where to make changes. The side panel fits nice , I left some brim on to locate behind the front panel.

Neptune580-400x284.jpg neptune_front-scaled.jpg 20220429_145642.jpg longer and Slimmer with a 1mm indent to fit the rubber matting. I tried hollowing it out underneath using shell, it will do it but only to 1mm soon as I try any thicker it says no. I may do one at 1mm to see what it's like , you would think it will print that in good time

Something like a fillet might go to a "negative" value if you make the shell any thicker. In 99,99% of the cases it is often related to these kind of issues.

20220429_185006.jpg Yes it's surprising how tiny bits of rubbish end up corrupting the drawing, I have to zoom way in to to be able to delete them. When I was cutting with the bow drawing I had to do it in two stages because I couldn't get the bow to combine into one solid whatever I tried. One of the side tubes came to the bow at 15 degrees the other at thirteen degrees, I still won't know it fits until I print one off. I have just had a new ss drive fitted and a new copy of Windows ten, wow that's helped no end with the speed I can draw at.
To cut out the mats the easiest way might be just to press the printed bow into the rubber to make an impression.
