Monsters of Torque [revised], part#F: selecting a suitable brushless system
Motor selection...
notes:
*RV=recomended voltage [lipo cells count]
*CL=can length [all motors chosen to fit in the e-zilla directly without chassis modifications].
*all setups refer to single motor use.
*all motors are sensorless. sensorless motors feature a top rpm range that is higher than the corresponding sensored ones [explained in section A].
*although specific gearing recommendations can be given, i would generally suggest [for safety reasons] that most motor setups should be geared initially with a 18t pinion, and gear up 1t at a time, depending on the temperature test [finger test]. if you need a specific gearing recommendation for a particular combo, go ahead and ask; thats the simplest thing to do. remember: gearing is always relative to wheel weight and diameter as well as some other things... meaning that there can`t be a 'universal' answer to the generic 'what pinion' question...

**note #1: the novak HV-MAXX is the only system in this list that is sensored, and is NOT a direct-fit for the ezilla. feigao/nemesis XXL cans and lehner 2230 are also non-direct fits. [added note: any size longer than 65mm won`t fit directly into a stock e-savage chassis, and any motor up to 85mm will fit with GCM RB BL chassis].
***note #2: the novak HV-MAXX and the Mtroniks Genesis Truck usually come as full combos. the mtroniks plasma3000 motor is a rebadged feigao 8L.
****note#3: the 'nemesis blue' motors can also be found in purple and red colours with different names. all of them are actually feigao motors, therefore there is no 'actual' performance difference between feigao and nemesis motors. same applies to BK 'wanderer' motors. same applies between greatplanes` ammo,robbe 'roxxy',turnigy 36-56 series of motors.
ESC selection...
as with the gearing, you are encouraged to ASK...

Brushed vs Brushless: does brushless worth the effort and money?
the answer is a hybrid of yes and no. take a look to the chart:
______________typical LV brushed___brushed HV powertool___sensored bl______sensorless bl

*note: most brushless motors utilize neodynium magnets. neodynium makes for more torque and better efficiency. however, if water reaches neodynium, it will be harmed. therefore, always keep your brushless motor(s) away from water & mud. you could seal the can [you may have noticed that most bl motors otherwise have a closed can], but nothing can guarantee that driving in such conditions won`t kill your motor.
my picks and recommendations...
this could [or should] be a huge paragraph, but i will limit it to a few lines. i am not a guru anyway...
typical low cost:
@4s lipo: ammo 36-56-2600, feigao/nemesis 9L.
@5s lipo: ammo 36-56-1800, feigao/nemesis 11L.
high end:
@4s lipo: lehner 1940 w6 or plettenberg maxximum w/fan.
@5s lipo: lehner 1940 w8 or medusa 36-60-2000v2 or plettenberg bigmaxximum.
