Jeroen, how are you? I hope you and your family are well.
Sorry for my very late reply.
Yes it is in the UK, it is at a former WW2 B24 Liberator base.

If you attend you will receive a warm welcome
and there is no charge for overseas visitors.

How are you getting on with Yke's designs?
I lost all the drawings you sent me when my hard drive crashed.
Yes I know I should have backed them up.

Regards Phil Goff

Dear All
I am pleased to announce that I have just received notification
from the Royal Air Force events team, informing me that we will
be receiving a flypast by the BBMF 'Lancaster'.

I have been trying/hoping to get a Lancaster flypast for years.
I am still shaking and I can't wait to see the mighty Lanc in action.

The Lanc to me is the most poignant of all the British WW2 aircraft.
Bomber Command lost 55,753 personnel during WW2.

Lest we forget.

Regards Phil G.

Dear All
I received an email from Martin H. from Wiltshire today.
He has put his name down for this event with these electric models.

Anson
Twin Pioneer
Argosy

I think you might agree these models are fairly unique
and perfect for the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force event.

I look forward to meeting Martin and seeing his unique models in action.
Below are some pictures of the models.

Regards Phil G.

You might ask yourself what do the ice cream cones mean
on the side of the Lanc. The ice cream cones represent a raid
on an Italian target.

Dear All
There is a chance that Norfolk flying legend Maurice Hammond
will be attending this event as guest of honour.

It was a joy to behold, to witness Maurice's superb
displays on numerous occasions at Tibenham in either
of his magnificent Mustangs.

It would be really nice to see him back at Tibenham.

Regards Phil G.

Dear All
Just under a week to go now, let's hope
the weather improves as it is terrible here
in Coltishall, Norfolk at the moment.

I can hardly contain myself at the thought of
seeing some lovely scale models and their owners of course.

And all being well the mighty Lanc roaring over I am sure that
will bring a lump to most peoples throats, including mine.

As always we will take a moment to remember those who gave
everything so that we can stand in freedom, and not forgetting also our
five friends that we have lost in the last two years who were stalwart supporters
of these events both at Coltishall and Tibenham.

This event is normally run on a semi off the peg basis
with a 'Balbo' thrown in for good measure.

As this event is to mark the 100th anniversary of the formation
of the Royal Air Force, I thought it might be nice if we say start
at 1pm, the RAF through it's 100 year history.

Obviously the first slot would be WW1 progressing through to
the present day, though I doubt anyone has a F35,
there will still be off the peg slots so no one is left out.

Pete (Taboborap, spelling) is due to attend and I hope Kev (NSS)
will be there also, so that we can get some 'Hollywood' shots.

The 'Balbo' will be led by either Dickie Scarbrough or Brian 'Cowboy' Cooper.

Hopefully at the end we can have a finale which is a mass formation.
That would make a mega 'Hollywood' shot.

Regards Phil G.

After the BBMF Lancaster performs 3 flypasts for us
at Tibenham airfield UK. It is then heading over to Holland
and Belgium, it is going to perform 7 flypasts in Holland
and 5 in Belgium. Returning to it's base RAF Coningsby UK
at 8pm.

Vink,
Thank you for posting that information.
Ron,
I hope you are able to see the Lanc,
the sound of those 4 Merlin engines will
bring a lump to your throat.
