In other words: can I use a monopole antenna with the external ELRS-module (and if not, why not, since both are transmitting at 2.4Mhz) ?

ELRS module: comes standard with a T-dipole antenna (Dipole), designed for omni-directional signal coverage and high stability for high refresh rates (e.g. F-1000Hz) and long distance transmission of the ELRS protocol.
Dipole antennas provide better radiation efficiency in both horizontal and vertical polarization directions, reducing signal blind spots.
4-in-1 module:
Standard Monopole antenna (Monopole), because the supported protocols (e.g. D8/D16, Flysky) have lower antenna requirements, the Monopole antenna can already meet the regular operation requirements.
Same frequency band but different requirements
Although both bands are 2.4GHz, ELRS requires higher signal quality and anti-interference capability (e.g. RP4TD receiver mentioned in document 6 needs to be equipped with U.FL interface antenna).
