Hallo, Ik ben een Nederlander wonend in de VS in de omgeving van Chicago. Schrijven in het Nederlands is voor mij wat moeilijk, lezen en praten is veel beter. Je kan mij in het Nederlands beantwoorden. Ik ga nu over in het Engels. I have been building model ships on and off all my life. My building interest lies in Dutch shipbuilding and architecture of 17th century Dutch merchant ships. My other interests are Dutch naval history between 1550 to 1820, which is pretty much the VOC. Other woodworking: Carving and scrollsawing 2D and 3D puzzles. Deciduous tree bonsai collection and my extensive edible garden. Presently Scratch building the Zeehaen at a scale of 1:37.5. The fluit from the Dutch Explorer Abel J. Tasman. I plan on building the Heemskerck as well. Ab Hoving has been a great help for me in building the fluit. Regards, Marcus Meijer
