V3.0 Firmware Upgrade Information
After a year of development and now months of tweaking and testing, we are finally releasing the v3.0 firmware upgrade.
This upgrade provides many new features for XPS customers.
As many of you may know, the European frequency rules were set to change on August 1st, 2008. The new rules require that all devices with a power exceeding 1mw per megahertz of bandwidth used must hop across the 2.4GHz band. After considerable work, we have achieved that feat using the existing FCC/ETSI certified hardware. A recent test in a German ETSI lab confirmed our conformity with the new rules.
As a bi-product of creating this support, our customers world-wide can now also use full time frequency hopping if they choose to.
We have dramatically improved the response speed of the system, by more than doubling the data rate as well as outputting the servo channels simultaneously. Heli cyclics have absolutely no CCPM interations due to servo channel outputs. It really is the best it can get for heli pilots now.
The upgrade will NOT be available until October 31st. We realize that the job ahead of us of upgrading tens of thousands of systems is going to be immense, so we are building upgrade stations to be able to manage quick turn around times.
You will "order" the upgrade, just as you did when purchasing the product originally from our website. Once the order has been processed, you will need to send in your equipment with a copy of the order (printed).
We are not upgrading any systems until the 31st.
The v3.0 upgrade requires all of your components to be upgraded if you want to use the new full-time frequency hopping
