The connections to the Futaba RX are:
CH1 Aileron
CH2 Elevator
CH3 Throttle (ESC power supply)
CH4 Rudder
CH5 Gyro
CH6 Pitch
Servo positions from the rear of heli:
Aileron – Right servo
Elevator – Front servo
Pitch – Left servo
For normal flight with similar characteristics to the stock TX/RX, I use:
Exponential: sw D
Up Down
Ch 1 (Ail) 0% +30%
Ch 2 (Ele) 0% +30%
Ch 4 (Rudd) 0% +50%
Reverse
Ch 1 N
Ch 2 Rev
Ch 3 Rev (Only needs to be Rev for the Castle Creations ESC)
Ch 4 N
Ch 5 N
Ch 6 Rev
Swash: HR3
Ail +45%
Ele -45%
Pit +55% (To get 11 degrees positive and negative pitch)
P5 P4 P3 P2 P1
TH-CV(N) 100% 80% 60% 40% 0%
PI-CV(N) 100% 85% 75% 65% 40%
Gyro (I use a GY401 with remote gain settings)
UP->N 25%
DN->A 55%
I have just setup Idle1 on a different model with the following curve differences from the setup above:
P5 P4 P3 P2 P1
TH-CV(N) 100% 80% 60% 40% 0%
PI-CV(N) 100% 75% 50% 42.5 35%
P5 P4 P3 P2 P1
TH-CV(1) 100% 80% 60% 80% 100%
PI-CV(1) 100% 75% 50% 25% 0%
The reason for this Idle1 curve is:
- Not too experienced yet
- Enables me to switch to Idle1 with the heli still on the ground
The 50% Exp on the Rudder is ab fab, gives great control of the tail.
