Lost packages - help

Guys,

I need some advice from someone who knows how the dutch mail system works.

A few weeks ago i ordered some stuff from a dutch guy up north. It was about 700 euros worth of stuff. It was never delivered. According to www.tracktrace.nl they say it was delivered on the 30th of june but i never received anything. The person i bought the stuff from is a dutch web shop and they have made a investigation at TPG but TPG simply says they have delivered the package and thats it.

What do i do about this? Is it a total loss? Should the person who shipped the stuff to me be responsible? Do i file a police report? What are the proper steps to take here?

Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Josh

this is very strange, if the TPG said it is delivered..... i asume you confimed your adres everywhere en checked around that no one else has the package.

If you had to sign for reception (for this amount i wouldn't want any other way) TPG can give the namen and / or signature. If they can't it wasn't delivered, if they can, you know who has it.

Ask TPG for the signature they recieved for the package. If it isn't yours, they mis-delivered and they must recover the package or refund the goods. Also, if you can make it stand you were not at home during the delivery time (at work maybe?) , you can make your case even better. Sometimes TPG delivers at the neighbours, and if they dislike you..... Make sure you send any mail to TPG 'aangetekend', that way you'll have proof of them getting your mail.
If TPG does not help you, file a police report and fax the copy of the 'proces verbaal' to TPG. If you have legal insurance you can also give them a call, or else call the 'rechtswinkel'.

Good luck,

Ton.

I had the same a couple of years ago with some spare parts for my motorbike. Unfortunatelly, the only one that can start an investigation is the one that has sent the package (not the supposed receiver). My package was also never recovered, and the signature seemed to have disappeared. The answer from TPG: Bad luck, try again.

Lesson learned: never send anything worth more than 50 euro's without insurrance

The package was not sent Aangetekend however it is impossible to fit such a package through my door so i would have had to be here to receive it. Of course i have checked with all my neighbors and they have received nothing. I guess i have learned my lesson. TPGpost is not to be trusted as much as i thought. Its the first time i have had a problem but it was the worst package this could have happened with.

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like there is not much i can do.

Hoi hoi,

Its possible that the postman made a mistake, and signed his papers wrong. Its possible that the package is still at the postoffice, and beause you have no notification of this, explain the matter, and they wil take a look if maybe your package is there. (It happened to me once).

Good luck...

If your package was trackable as you said, you must sign to receive, so it is simple to find out wat has gone wrong.

No, every package insured or not, "aangetekend" or not is trackable. Even the max 5KG 6€ packages.
