German Indoor Aerobatics Championship 2011

...
So that is a good reason to me why not to follow the recommendation.
...

That may be a valid point for you, but the same rules apply to all competitors and are not modified for individual pilots. You could also argue, that the top F3P-A pilots will get more flights, because only the top pilots will fly the Unknown schedule and only the top pilots will fly a third round of F3P-AM.

:) Jürgen

ETOC works on an invitational base. The German Indoor Aerobatics Championship is open to all interested model pilots with valid insurance.

:) Jürgen

that's just not the case, a few are invited, if you are not then you have to submit a video.

"To Get into the ETOC as a competitor
2011 Is CLOSED

Just submit a CD or DvD with 2 min of freestyle and 2 min of pattern done inside only. And the freestyle must be done to music. Also please include a brief bio about yourself . Submit to address below. Good Luck! Deadline for entries is Feb 14 2011 and pilot list will be announced Feb. 21st 2011

I'm not asking for any special treatment. I think the rules should be changed, not just for me but for everyone. (And i understand that you don't want to do that this year, but i would really appreciate it if you thought about it for next year.)
I might be the clearest example of a pilot who excels in AM and not in A/B, but there are others to.

You'r not letting the best AM pilot's fly AM, you'r letting the best patten pilots fly AM. And they might just suck at it...

The best pilot's should get more flights in imo.
But as far as the scoring is concerned the A and AM are to separate competition's.
The Af and unknown is just a next round of the A comp. Just as final AM's are to AM.

And i really like the idea of flying an unknown, just hve to get mutch better at A to be able to do it. But i don't have an issue with that. ;)

I am sure, that there are many other pilots who are better in Freestyle than Pattern, but it is usually the same top pilots who excel in both categories. Just have a look at the results of the last 8 years.

I can't see a top pilot "suck" at a class and keep doing so. He will either practise like crazy or stop competing in this class. Nobody is forced to fly F3P-AM. ;)

You provide a lot of information about yourself, plus video of your pattern and freestyle flying. You then might get an invitation to compete at the ETOC.

You can't just register like on a "normal" model sports competition - that's the difference.

As I don't want more than 18 competitors in F3P-AM, only the Top 12 in F3P-Expert and the Top 6 in F3P-Sport will get a "guaranteed seat" in this class. As there where less than 18 candidates for F3P-AM, all of them could show their F3P-AM routine.

:) Jürgen

Hi Nando,

as "only" 22 pilots registered for F3P-AM, I decided that we will give all of them a chance to compete in this class. If 50 pilots would have registered for F3P-Sport and -Expert, i could not have been that generous. ;)

All participants have been informed and they know, that bringing their F3P-AM model and practising their routine will not be wasted time and effort.

This year, I will not only collect data about the models, but also the age, the mode the pilot is flying and whether he flies with his thumbs or uses a tray. ;)

Well Done.

F3P-A
1. Derk
2. Gernot
3. Donatas
