Dit schrijft 'ScaleAero' (Ed Clayman, oa. beklend van Flite Metal) op de RC-Scalebuilder site over het al dan niet starten van de bouw van een model van tekening.
"Plan building vs Scratch building requires a huge leap of faith when it comes to a plan designed by someone who's not a modeler. How were you to know . . . unless an inquiry is made asking whom has built an "X" from "whomever's" planset?
Its a good idea to ask before starting. This forum serves as an excellent place to do so.
It would probably be good for us to review our plans for a list of things before ever starting a build from plans.
1. Lookout for butt joints anywhere on the plan.
2. Lookout for a lack of any grade of ply in the retract area.
3. Lookout for fuselages divided into sections joined with nylon bolts.
4. Lookout for a lack of sheer webbing forming a "D" leading edge spar on any
built up wing.
5. Look for interlaced or interlocked tail feathers to the fuselage.
6. Lookout for plug in wings without alignment dowels.
7. Measure plans and compare when drawings span multiple sheets."
For what it's worth . . . :?
