Try Der Jet model in Taiwan... I get my retracts from them and combine them with Electrons EV40. A very good company.

I was going to contact them, but was told they very scale, but also expensive.
I will probably make something up myself.
I ordered the drop tank kits from Mick Reeves. I hope I manage to assemble them ok. Some people gave up & bought the Ripmax ones. Now, that is not an option.

I also made the cockpit myself... I also have the drop tanks from Mick Reeves, but i never build them. They are to heavy i think. So I made them myself with fiberglass and foam.
I you want you can have them for free, but I see you already ordered them. My Hunter is still alive & well, he flies very smooth... a real beauty in the air.

deze week is het KNVVL modelvlieg blad uitgekomen met leuke foto's van jou hunter. Tot mijn grote verbazing zie ik daar mijn naam onderstaan. Ik ben niet op Jets over Pampa geweest dus wel erg vreemd.
Ik heb de KNVVL redactie aangeschreven en gevraagd dit in de volgende uitgave te corrigeren want bij zo een mooi model hoort de echte eigenaar en bouwer ook de eer te krijgen. Mij is op de mail verzekerd dat men dit zal doorgeven aan de schrijver van het stuk, zie onder;

Hello, building a Mick Reeves is a challenge. But with a little bit of patience you get a verry good plane. I am using spray putty from motip. But be gentle with it. You dont really need it on a glass fiber fuselage. I put a 225 gram glas on the wing sheets, then fixed it with epoxy an then after sanding with water and soap a little bit of putty. i am now working on a electric fouga. you see i dont use much putty to reduce the weight. The lighter the model the better it flies.

Many thanks for your reply. It’s always very good to learn from others. What got me reading your build blog was the retract issue you had. It seems that it’s the starting point ‘before’ ordering a model, make sure you can find a set of retracts that suit. That has lead me to look for a set that would fit the Sea Venom, which I don’t think I have seen many examples of it being built.

Merry Christmas, I am fascinated by your weathering technique. You say you learnt it from YouTube, do you have the page? I have been trying out the ‘salting’ technique but this isn’t working and I really don’t like adding salt to anything. The effect I am trying to achieve is exactly what you achieved. Very good finish.
