SmartPropoPlus - Using your Transmitter as a Joystick for FMS

This package contains 5 different files named winmm.dll.
They are located in separate folders under folder "bin"
You have to copy appropriate file into the folder where file FMS.exe resides.

If you are using any PPM transmitter (which is the most common) - copy the file that is
inside "PPM"
If you use a Futaba PCM transmitter - copy the file that is inside "Futaba_PCM"
If you use a JR PCM transmitter - copy the file that is inside "JR_PCM"
If you use a SANWA or Airtronics PCM transmitter - copy the file that is inside
Sanwa_PCM1 or Sanwa_PCM2 according to the modulation type.

If you are not sure, try all 5 files one-by-one until you succeed.

mooi dat hier een nieuwere versie van is, misschien dat deze wel de instellingen kan onthouden wanneer ik smartpropo afsluit.

maar effe een vraagje,

had SmartPropo.exe of SmartPropo.sys of SmartPropo.inf er niet bij gemoeten??
Beetje lastig de drivers installeren zonder deze files.

Of zit alles nu in winmm.dll ?????

met die 3 files erbij werkt hij dus wel als windows joystick :)

ik gebruik het dus echt niet alleen voor FMS,

ieder willekeurig spel de dll file bij in kopieren en meestal doet hij het dan zonder problemen.

ik heb de dll gekopieerd, ikhoor die zoem die veranderd van toon als ik mijn knuppels beweeg, dus dat is ok. Alleen fms wil niet starten met die nieuwe dll in de map. als ik hem weghaal dus weer wel.

"Kan de toepassing niet juist intialiseren (0xc0000005). Klik op ok om de toepassing tebeeindigen

Dat krijg ik.. :(

Kunnen jullie mij helpen?

Ik heb dus niets geinstalleerd, alleen de dll in de fms map gegooid. Iets in me zegt me dat dat te weinig is..

Ik heb inderdaad xpSP2

There are two known problems I am working on.
1. On some windows XP SP2 machines, FMS would crash if SmartPropo is used. I'd recommend to stay on SP1 until the problem is solved. Frankly, I don't have a clue. For you SW guys: The problem is - SmartPropo DLL fails to LoadLibrary the original WINMM.DLL with error 998. Any ideas?
2. Low-end PPM Tx connected to mic input cannot be used. Problem is understood. If you have a Line-in input to your audio card - use it instead. If not, just wait a few days.

wat nu? wachten tot de problemen opgelost zijn, of is er hier iemand die mij verder kan helpen?

Ik denk dat Shaul aan het werk is, en hij reageert vrij snel.
Bv, een paar uren na de aankondiging van mijn PPM audio stick, had ik al een bericht van hem, dat hij het had gebruikt in zijn testen, en dat hij het heel nuttig vond (het neemt heel weinig plaats op een PC scherm).
Indien nodig, schrijf in op FMS forum, en geef je eigen info, of stel je vragen.

ik heb een andere versie ontvangen van een medeforumgebruiker. Deze werkt wel goed, alleen knalt mn pc er nu steeds uit. Blauw scherm geheugendump je kent het wel. Jammer, want het werkte wel leuk!

Effe over het tikkende geluid,
je moet de microfoon afspelen op MUTE zetten.
je gebruikt immers alleen microfoon opname. :wink:
je hoort dan niet meer wat er opgenomen wordt, maar hij neemt nog wel steeds de info op.
Dan is het irritante getik helemaal verdwenen.

Heb je je systeem wel volledig up to date met patches e.d.?
ikzelf gebruik Windows XP Pro SP2 UK met alle patches voor zowel, windows update, office update als microsoft update.
tevens heb ik ook directx 9c (de nieuwste geïnstalleerd)
Ook de laatste drivers voor zowel audio als video installeren kan helpen,
de drivers van bijv een asus videokaart werken vaak een stuk beter dan de meegeleverde driver van mikkisoft.
Bij mij draaid deze versie op 4 verschillende systemen en allemaal stabiel zonder problemen. (allemaal xp sp2 trouwens, nederlandse en engelse versies)

windows joystick is toch een stuk interessanter dan alleen voor fms.

"I think that this DLL is good for anyone trying to use a Tx as a joystick.
My winmm.dll gets inbetween an application (e.g. FMS) and the original MS DLL and hijacks the joystick related function calls. Instead of redirecting the calls to the original DLL, it replaces these functions with Tx functions so that from the application point of view it uses a Joystick while it is realy talking with a Tx connected to the soundcard.
I think this is generic enough.

In short - tell our friend to put my DDL in the game-application directory."

Probeer dus de dll in de directory van een 'spel' te plaatsen.

ok bedankt, ook voor het engelse stukje.

Ik zal hem eens proberen,
effe kijken of hij stabiel is.

helaas,

met de nieuwste versie krijg ik niet 1 spel opgestart.
spel begint te zeuren over de winmm.dll van smartpropo.

oude versie werkt bij mij stabiel onder fms, maar wanneer ik iets anders probeer krijg ik na een random aantal seconden (soms 5, soms wel 1000 seconden) een blue screen of death.

Iemand een juiste (goedkope) oplossing om een FX18 stabiel aan de praat te krijgen als windows joystick onder XP SP2 Prof ???

USB-interface is interessant, maar ben niet van plan 50 euro neer te leggen en dan maar af te wachten of het inderdaad wel werkt.
