Hi JD,

first of all, I know where I am talking about, i am doing this for more than 10 years now..
But.. It is a Taiwanese company, they will sell to anybody, I also have been to the Thunder Tiger factory a few years ago, they also sold me rc cars and everything I wanted while there was a distributor here.
By the way, Tekin and Novak do the same, I also visited their factory.

But OK,
I didn't ask to be a distributor, they offered it!
Here is a part of the e-mail.

So... you see?
and when you know some people overthere (in Taiwan) you get a better price and conditions.
Yes, I have to buy for 10.000 Dollar (not 15) but get the kit for 85 US dollars. (offer is 2 weeks old)
Why I am not buying than?
Because I don't want to invest 10.000 dollar in a product that is aging very quickly.
I know Align is now busy developing another new helicopter and before that is coming you have sell the old model.
I already contacted some modelshops but I cannot sell more than 100 kits so that is not interesting for me.

well, that's my point of view, my advise to JD is to find a contact in Taiwan and get the kits cheaper.

greets

Flightsim,

Im not saying you dont have the prices right, Im saying you dont know what it costs ME to get them here and I also will not buy 15,000 USD worth of kits that indeed do age quickly. However someone has to get them into holland because there is a market for them and as it goes with anything you import in smaller numbers the prices are of course going to be a bit higher. Talk is cheap, action another thing. There is no reason for you to come claiming prices of 72 EURO per kit when the conditions arent anything you could ever meet and most dealers in holland will never meet either. That leaves it to somebody to bring them into the country in a smaller amount and the penalty is that the consumer (and the dealer) will suffer a bit on the price. That is just the way it works.

Now, since we are pasting emails, here is one for you:

Dear Joshua,

Please refer to the attached price list and quotation.

Feel free to contact me with any question and hope receiving from you soon.

Have a nice day!

So you see its not a problem with contacts, its a problem with quantity. I also will not order 15k (or 10k) of kits when i know that Align will be releasing something to replace it before Im even sold out of this model.

So what is the alternative? You do what you can. In my case i have a local guy in taiwan who will buy from Align who wont give him the full 40% discount becasue he also is ordering in a smaller quantity, then that guys sells to me but has to make something off the deal as well, then i pay for shipping, import tax, add on BTW, a small margin for myself so i can also make a living, and whats left is the price i can sell to the consumer for. This is all normal and how things work.

It doesn't help anybody at all that you tell them "I can get the kit for 140 Euro" if you arent going to do it. So why bother saying it? There wont be anyone in holland that orders that many kits for the same reason you wont and I wont so the reality of a 140 Euro CDE or HDE kit in holland just simply isnt going to happen. Dont lead people into thinking that it will when you know it wont. The only way to get such cheap prices is to order from Asia hobby shops and hope you dont get busted by douane for tax when it comes to your door. If you dont want to risk that, you will buy in holland and pay a bit more but have local support and be assured of your spending price in advance.

I dont personally have a problem with you, FlightSim so I hope you dont take this the wrong way. I just disagree with your intentions and the posts you have made concerning this. Its simply not a constructive discussion because you are doing nothing with your advice but making the local dealer who wont be able to afford to sell these kits for 140 euros look very bad.

And thats my .02 euro cents.

Tieske,

You have a valid point but i did mention in my post that it was a comparison of retail prices and that of course we as dealers are not buying it at the retail price but it was just to make a point with the known prices.

As you said, the best we can do is wait when it is in nederland and then we will see who was closer to the real price this will be selling for.
