Cozy F1 T800 - houtbouw F1 tunnel

Ik ben weer iets verder aan de outboard kap en de waterkoeling. Ik heb de uitsparingen in de kap gemaakt, om de stuurstangen te kunnen monteren.

De waterkoeling heb ik toch maar dubbel uitgevoerd. Ik heb er een nieuwe cavitatieplaat voor gemaakt, om er 2 water inlets in te kunnen zetten.

En het geheel gemonteerd, met messing buisjes en 2 aluminium houders voor de buisjes. Voorheen had ik houten houders, maar die braken af.

De outboard is af, op de blanke lak na, die moet ik nog over de kap aanbrengen.

Het was afgelopen dagen warm genoeg om met spuitbusjes aan de gang te kunnen.

Nog even met de outboard op het standaard achter de romp, omdat de lak nog moet uitharden [emoji3]

Het gat aan de voorkant is voor de stroomdraden. Bij de grote broers zit daar vaak ook een groot rond gat, maar dan voor de geforceerde luchttoevoer. Bijna echt dus ;)

Wow very nice Jan :thumbsup:! Yes the wires will look like the air chanel of the real ones. The hole is also at the right height. Will the weather allow you to finish the paint job for the cowl and the hull? I am very curious for the new painting ;).
Decals are also great. I also want a laser printer but for now is out of my budget.

PS. Happy 2022 with less COVID-19 (45.000 new cases today in Greece - we are about 10,5 million people - Omicron variant is so aggressive)
 
Thanks Dim [emoji106] Unfortunately the winter season has started and temperatures are generally too low for painting outdoors. By coincidence, today was the 'hottest' 31 Dec ever measured in Netherlands with 13 degrees celcius, so I took my chance ;)

But the hull and cockpit wil be painted around March I guess. It is too bad, because I don't dare to run the hull unpainted anymore now.

Covid situation in Greece sounds severe Dim. We are currently in lockdown...

That is even warmer than Greece (9 C° in my area today) ! Patience is the key for a good paint job Jan.
We should also be in a lock down before its too late.

Thumps up Jan :thumbsup:. Looks perfect!!! Nice trick with the marks. I will also do it cause sometimes I apply more putty than necessary.
It would be nice to upload a photo of the cowl with the putty before sanding to see your technique.
A question. The clear coat after the stickers.

Lacquer after the decals, yes. The printed decals need to be sealed with lacquer for outdoor use, otherwise they will easily come off.
 
Tijd voor een update; de kap is grotendeels klaar. Alleen de blanke lak moet er nog op. Hier en daar zitten wat kleine plekjes, maar ik ben tevreden. Wat een werk is dat afplakken altijd!

De romp wordt in dezelfde kleuren gespoten. Ik hoop de romp binnenkort helemaal af te hebben, dan kan hij eindelijk weer het water op!
 
Wow Jan I didn't expect it to be so nice!! What a nice combination of colors and design!!!! Well done!! I am waiting for the hull! :thumbsup:
 
Nice decals too!! All printed I guess?
Really can't stop looking at it :yes:. Indeed very flashy...
One question, how smooth is the surface between the two colours?
I mean, when the color changes I get a somewhat ''stepped'' surface which I find very annoying.

The decals are indeed printed. After clear coat, they are sealed and it can be hardly seen as stickers. They are very thin.

I do have the same 'edge' between colors. I guess it is due to masking tape. When the paint is sprayed, it will flow against the tape and make a small edge. I don't mind it actually [emoji6]
