Morgen of overmorgen maar even oranje schilderen.

Are you going to make the Tamar inflatable boat that goes on the rear deck? Plans can be found here: http://eezebilt.hobby-site.com/Tamboat.html

and you can see it painted here: http://eezebilt.hobby-site.com/tamarpics5.html
Hi DG, No I will not make the little RIB as on "the real deal" the RIB is not stored on the rear deck, but in a recess hatch below the deck. To launch it, both stern and hatches on the aft part of the deck are opened and the boat slides out of the rear... Having the RIB on deck feels kinda awkward to me.

You like what you see so far?

You occasionally see pictures of a Tamar with the RIB on the top deck - probably for maintenance - but I must admit that I put it in since as a child I found that the TRITON was much more fun to play with because it had a separate small boat - so that's more for the kids. It would have been nice to have made a proper below-decks hatch, but that would make the rudder servo much more complicated, and no longer 'EeZeBilt'...

The fittings really make the boat! It's going to look good on its first outing. I don't know if you have the two underwater panels either side of the prop - as well as matching the full-size they were intended to keep it vertical as it was launched into the pond down a ramp like the full-size...

I must copy some of your ideas for the Tamar fittings page - particularly the windscreen. I haven't really finished my Tamar - so much to do! But I have got what I think is a final draft of the BEAVER, and I'm starting to make two instances - one high-motor, one low...

Haha, no, indeed, creating proper hatches would bin the whole "EeZeBilt"-idea completely, although some of the fittings are also past the "EeZe"-phase. But it makes for a lovely ship!
I did not build the skegs on it, as I felt that it would impact maneouvrability and for me this boat is built for looking good on the water. I will not ever launch it from a ramp, too much hassle :p

I hope to have my boats both finished in a matter of weeks, I will send you some high-res pictures of the end results.

Looking forward to the BEAVER!

Nice DG! I am in for the modern version for the next holiday!

I also noticed you put some pictures from my build on your website. While I would have appreciated you'd notify me about it, I am flattered and it is nice to see the boats are worthy of being showed off.

The Otter is almost done now - just the batteries and ballast - and the Tamar will be shortly, I hope to get some decals soon and then it's a clear coat to seal it all. I really hope to provide you with some nice "on the water" photos and movies.

Aaarh! I'm terribly sorry! I thought I had mentioned that I wanted to use them, but I can't find any reference for this so it must have slipped my mind. I've been quite busy getting a set of plans and build pages ready... :(

I hope you will accept my apologies, and provide retrospective permission. Very few people were making the Otter before, and your pictures have stoked up quite a lot of interest....

It's alright DG, as I said I am flattered that both ships made it to your site with full reference to this thread. Permission was never the issue! I just found it a bit weird to find out by myself the pictures were there. But I was smiling all over when I discovered :)

Thanks for that. I have sent you a little apology present via email - an early view of something for your Otter to pull...
