Scratch built ribs and outboards

Some stills from yesterday's meeting, absolutely freezing, I was wearing my new heated gloves but after a couple of hours the batteries ran out. There was ice going out 20 feet, so we launched at the end of the jetty.
Anyway it did mean we had the lake to ourselves, nobody else was daft enough.
Paul had a tiny waterproof camera on the end of a stick which he deployed as well as driving the rescue boat, I was sat up front operating my rib with Katerina in tow. I would come past us as close as I could and as slow, but still keeping Katerina up on her foil.
These stills are from my on board go pro, I haven't seen the other shots yet. The new handle on the front allowed her to trail the wing behind her as per full size.

So Katerina has a new wing to try called the 360, based on full size Duotone wings. Hoping a new setup with the camera will give a view from behind as she carves through the water on her foil board.

Wing foiling
What a change in the weather yesterday it was like a spring day, I was too warm with my winter coat and a life jacket on top, not complaining though. So got loads of filming done, we had some technical issues, mechanical and Paul's go2 let us down. I wouldn't buy a go2 due to the short battery life, very annoying when everything is perfect and then the battery is flat. Some great stills from what we shot below, at times it was flat calm, when we really need some wind, anyway we found a little. Time to get on Power Director and do some editing, we have a couple of hours film to cut down to 5 minutes!

I might have judged the go2 too harshly, it's a clever little thing. Yesterday we mounted it just in front of Katerina then towed her round, the extra weight gave the foil a hard time , but at speed it just coped. So even though the camera was at 45 degrees sometimes the horizon stays level, see photos. Making progress on the latest film for you tube.
