Hey ruud ff misverstandje hier boven.. maar Gies saves theday
These are all valid points. I can't say for sure or when, but a 'Team' edition or something to that extent is definitely something we are considering.
I think I touched on this a few pages back. Basically, final cost to the consumer is a very big deal. A lot of people on RCTech and other places don't mind paying more for a full option kit. But if we are going to reach the maximum audience with our first SC kit, we have to be competitive in the market with pricing.
We could only release one kit at a time and we chose the less expensive kit to start. Unfortunately it's not sound business practice to come out with such a high priced kit first. We aren't Kyosho, we are still building our reputation so a $600 SC kit doesn't make a lot of sense if we are to maximize our exposure.
Back to the kit. Even though some of the parts are stamped or composite instead of CNC, they are still tough as hell and we are confident that our kit is more durable and will last longer than any other truck out there.
Every other SC kit either comes with 6061 3mm stamped towers or plastic towers. We have 4mm 7075 towers - stock. How is this not better than what is out there? Answer - it is better
. Our towers are much more costly than any other stock towers in the other kits. Same goes for the chassis. It's 4mm 7075 aluminum, not plastic, not 3mm 6061, it's 4mm 7075. You'll be hard pressed to wear out the stock chassis.
These components still cost a lot of money and we feel any compromises we made to keep the costs down are still better than what the competition is offering.
Here's something you all will appreciate - After more testing, and many gnarly crashes, we broke 2 of the front composite hinge pin braces in one weekend. The rest of the truck has been nearly indestructible, but we want the truck to be 100% out of the box. So we are including a 7075 CNC front outer hinge pin brace in the kit. The price is still the same and we are absorbing the cost of this part even though it's one of the most expensive parts on the truck. Like you, we don't want you to have to upgrade anything on the truck unless you really want to.
The Ackerman plate is composite and I actually prefer it to the aluminum piece because it is lighter. We haven't broken any of those on the truck, it is not necessary to upgrade it. Other kits have composite or stamped Ackerman plates. No other SC kit has a machined plate. Heck, most 1/8th buggies use stamped Ackerman plates (even the $900 MP9).
So again, we understand where some of you are coming from and we will never ignore a valid point. But after putting in so much work and effort to offer a kit that is both competitive and cost effective, we have to take the time to explain some of the decisions.
Production is in top gear, parts are coming in and we are finalizing the instructions and bag contents. Hold tight, release time will be here before you know it. Thanks everyone!

Denk dat tekno hun uiterste best gedaan heeft om de auto ondanks de bouwkwaliteit en features toch zo goedkoop mogelijk op de markt te brengen
