P1 Puma RIB racing-scratch building

No time... No progress... Only small steps forward...

Nice result Dim, good to see you are still busy with the RIB [emoji106]
Did you carefully plan to make the maiden run?

@Dirk Jan thank you. I am definitely out of schedule mainly for two reasons. A) no teleworking anymore which means at least 2.5 hours commuting every day :)mad: so much traffic at the post-covid (?) period here in Athens) and B) the outboard has so many details that must to be done which are extremely time consuming. I hope before August vacations to be ready for the maiden.

Painting the cowl with the base white color.

I hoped teleworking was here to stay. At my work it still is, but most companies cancelled it. The commute is indeed at the same level as in 2019, pre-covid :(

Very nice amount of detail. This is going to become a beauty for sure!

Hi Dim, I got a few questions:
What is the purpose of the round hole in front of the cowl?
And how are you going to get the bare carbon fiber on the cowl, because you painted it already? Are you going to sand it of again?
The windows look nice! [emoji106] are they vinyl?

Too bad you have 2.5hours of travel each day [emoji51]. We can work partly from home also post-covid. Actually, I live very close to the office and I go there on my bicycle. It is a great treat!

Thank you Jan!
1) The hole is to secure the cowl on the boat as you can see in the photo below:

The aluminum tube is glued on the hull.
2) I have already masked the top of the cowl with masking tape but after all these coats of putty and paint is not obvious any more.
3) No the windows are not vinyl, I have painted them with black color using masking tape.

I hoped teleworking was here to stay
Michael, teleworking worked fine in our case, but the HR decided that after 2 years the organization does not have the "right" framework for teleworking...so teleworking from October again when the framework is ready...

I go there on my bicycle. It is a great treat
So so lucky Jan... We decided to move away from the city to be close to nature for the kids (and for us of course). It is great but we have to travel 30 km every day to the center of Athens (60 km in total)...

I dare not to mention it...but in October most of have to work again from home, if the predictions of the scientists are correct...:(
Lucky for you it is only a technical issue hopefully solved in October.

Congestion is terrible in the cities we live in. I live in a city centre and also do everything on my (cargo) bike. Getting in or out of the city by car is no fun.

Keep up the good work!

Bedankt Jan!!! I spent a lot of hours working on it but it came out nice.

For those interested these waterslide decals are for standard inject printers. They seem to be fine, I just applied 3 layers of clear coat before soaked them into the water to stabilize the colors. ;)

Thanks Michael:)!!
Yes the decals worked really good.
Go ahead and try them it is is easy and fun because you can print whatever you want...

Good morning guys. Below you can find the essential steps for waterslide decals for those that may be interested (there are numerus videos on YouTube too) :
1. Choose the proper waterslide decal paper according to your printer (for me is an inject printer version of decal paper with white background) and print whatever you want

2. Cut and spray with acrylic clear coat to srabilize the colors

3. Cut carefully the decal (here I remove the white background)

4. Into the water until you can easily remove the glossy surface from the paperish surface

5. Apply carefully on a smooth surface (the R letter was tricky I admit, use your hands and or a tweezers). Spray with lacquer afterwards to seal the decals.

6. Don't throw the remaining of the paper (is quite expensive). Just secure it on an A4 paper with tape and use it again

I hope you find this post useful guys ;)
